Meet Kara Marrs

One of our goals at Tranquility Hollow is to meet the wedding vendors from around town at our property so we can show them around, get to know them and hear their ideas for how their business can benefit our brides at Tranquility Hollow! Our first vendor up to bat last week was Kara Marrs of Kara Marrs Beauty. We gave Kara a list of the top questions you (bride) might have for your hair/makeup stylist about your wedding day! Here is what she said…

Do you help with the veil/hair accessories on the wedding day?
Yes! I will help with any hair needs.

Does the bride need to bring her veil/hair accessories for the trial?
Yes! we want to see the whole look to make sure it is the way you want

Do you have different hair accessories to let the bride use?

The Dusty Pearls

The*Dusty*Pearls
I had the privilege of meeting with Shelly and Mark of the Dusty Pearls music group a couple of weeks ago! We had a great lunch and I learned a little about their music and backgrounds and just absolutely adore their laid-back style! Shelly and Mark have been playing music together for roughly 5 years and about 6 months ago formed The Dusty Pearls and hit the ground running! Both Shelly and Mark grew up in Tulsa and are very familiar with our great town! I met them out at Tranquility Hollow after a “get to know you” lunch and they fell in love with the place! How can you NOT want to bring your guitar out and play a little music surrounded by all the beautiful things nature has to offer in our backyard!? Their exciting mixture of country/pop/classic rock will leave you with a cheery spirit and a little spring in your step! If you’re interested in finding out more about The Dusty Pearls you can “Like” their page on Facebook:
or find them on ReverbNation.com
Mark saw no problem getting his equipment set up at the Hollow and they are so excited to play at your next event!
They have a 3 hour set, and for the duo will run you $500!
WHAT A DEAL
They can also add two more band members for an additional $300 ($800 total).
They also mentioned that if you have a specific song in mind and give them advance notice they will do their best to learn a suggestion from you (within reason)! Of course you will need to call them to set up the details about music set lists and preferences! Shelly added that they have plenty of “wedding” music that they can play with the “sweet love song” vibes if you are thinking of them for your wedding reception!
Check out their music and call them today to book them for your next event at Tranquility Hollow!

A Picture Guide to Tranquility Hollow

A picture guide to help you locate us!
So, I don’t know how many of you are directionally challenged like me; but on my first trip to Tranquility Hollow, I stopped numerous times to check my GPS to make sure I was on the right road! I decided on my last trip to The Hollow to stop and take some photos on my way so you can use them as a guide once you are on 31st Street! There are no real “landmarks” since they are set in the country and telling someone that there are cows to the left and farms on the right doesn’t really cut it since you’ll find a lot of that here in OK! I hope this helps ya’ll find your way!!

Once you are on 31st Street and headed East, this is the 1st intersection you will come to! STAY STRAIGHT!

This is the second intersection you will come across! I'll have to change the scenery if this barber shop ever takes down it's sign, but ahead of you at the stop sign you will see the sign for the barber shop!
STAY STRAIGHT!

This is the last intersection on 31st! It is also a "dead end" which helps! At this intersection you will turn left! This is 289th E Ave!
This sign sits across from you at the intersection of 31st and 289th E Ave. Again, if they take down their sign just remember turn left at the "dead end"!

See how 289th curves to the left or goes off to the right? You're going to want to stay right at the Y!! (The road curves ahead to the right and you're almost there!)

After you have gone to the right of the Y in the road you will travel along a gravel road and then come to the end and see this sign! Go past the sign and you'll see the beautiful gates welcoming you to Tranquility Hollow!

Photos At The Hollow

So, I guess I need to introduce myself as well! I am Shelly Hendrix, the creator of the Tranquility Hollow blog! I met Bob and Lola not too long ago, and just fell head over heels in love with their property! In the same way nature "clicks" inside some of us, this place had that feeling from the second I drove up to the property! It surrounds you with it's peace and tranquility and doesn't let go! The country air helps clear your mind as you breathe in your surroundings, and your worries seem to just melt away! Now, I'm sure you all have seen the pictures and looked through all that this wonderful place has to offer, so now I want to share with you all our photography session we had out there!

Hugs & Smiles Photography, met with us (myself and my one and only, Dee Jay) at Tranquility Hollow on a chilly Spring morning! It was probably better that there was a bite in the air because we decked out in our camo/hunting/fishing gear (which can get quite warm) and walked around the property getting photos! We had an absolute blast climbing around through the woods, "fishing" off the bridge, and playing some guitar for each other!

If you are a photographer looking for a FANTASTIC place to have an outdoor session, or you might be looking to have your own pictures taken, this venue cannot be beat in my book!

Feel Free to contact Bob or Lola to book a session in their backyard with a licensed photographer!
